Gbenga Ogunbote has rejoined Shooting Stars after he quit expelled Nigeria league club Giwa FC.
Ogunbote himself confirmed he has rejoined the Ibadan club after meeting with the management on Wednesday.
Ogunbote, who tinkered ‘The Oluyole Warriors’ last season for them to retain their premiership status is back to rescue the team, who are second from bottom of the table halfway through the campaign.
An official told reporters the coach already resumed in Ibadan.
"Coach Gbenga (Ogunbote) has returned to Shooting Stars as the TA, while coach Lawal Abimbola Abidemi is the first assistant and Agoye (Edith) is the second assistant," the official said.
Former Sunshine Stars and Sharks coach Ogunbote quit Jos club Giwa after they were expelled from the league for staying away from three matches.
"Coach Gbenga decided to leave Giwa because he is not sure about the status of the team and what will eventually happen to the team,” a source informed.
Giwa FC have been expelled from the league and the appeal is yet to be tackled so he decided to quit to go elsewhere."
