The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) yesterday gave a clean bill of health to MultiChoice Nigeria , owners of the multinational Digital Satellite Television (DStv) over consumer abuse investigations.
The Director-General, CPC, Mrs. Dupe Atoki, at a joint news conference with officials of MultiChoice Nigeria in Lagos, also described MultiChoice as a “ model of compliance” saying the intervention into the business activities of MultiChoice followed several complaints by consumers leading to the investigation on July 31, last year.
Atoki said the company has also included the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) International as a Free- to –Air channel which will be available whenever cable subscription ends.
The Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, said the company is happy to work with the CPC to improve customer service. Ugbe said: “Over the past year, we have worked closely with the CPC, to identify our customers’ areas of need, and made a commitment towards implementing solutions that will resonate with our customers and lead to improved customer service.
“We put our customers first at all times and hold them in very high esteem.”
We are committed to delivering world class service to our customers and proud to state that we are the first video entertainment provider in Nigeria to implement these service improvement initiatives. We are confident that this drive will ultimately lead to an improved service journey for our customers,” Ugbe said. ReplyDeleteWho is this Mrs Dupe Atoke? What is the qualifications she is holding?
ReplyDeleteWith the above remarks from her... it put one to doubt her qualifications, experience and exposure to the work she is doing.
Come to think of it, Madam Atoke need to visit South Africa where the MultiChoice came from if same system of billing is in use there. What is obtainable in South Africa is ''PAY AS YOU VIEW'' which is the standard obtainable in other civilized nations of the world compare to the exploiting present system of Monthly billing in Nigeria. Moreso, with this our epileptics power system in Nigeria. Madam Atoke should bear it in mind that many subscriber only travels out of their domain for life hustles and only come back on weekends. Yet Mrs Dupe Atoke (DG CPC) is still praising this company.
Imagined Madam DG praising MultiChoice on leaving out NTA as a free channel. Please, can someone inform this woman Nigerians reserved more than that. In South Africa where MultiChoice is situated, close to ten channels are free to air.
Please Madam.. wake up and rise up to present days reality. Enough of this FRAUD AND EXPLOITATION... (Note that same was experience from MTN Nigeria before Glo, Etisalat bails us out).
Tope.
I wonder where that lady appeared from. imagine her comment. jeeee!!! I mean this guys fucking exploits Nigerians like sapping rubber from tree without remorse, and I expected more sanction on them as regards the xenophobic attacks against us last year which has not been resolved, and here this woman is praising them for including NTA as free on the air. what's NTA as to compare to 3600 per month.......rubbish government we always have in this country. Imaging its Nigeria that operates this firms (Dstv, shoprite and Mtn) in south africa and then xenophobic attack from Nigeria against them, they would have closed these firms since. rubbish!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis woman must be investigated for this type of comments and political display remarks which to her advantaged to the management of the company.
ReplyDeleteIm too sure Mrs Atoke will be on the complimentary list of DSTV. So in your view, you never thought you can compelled the coy to be charging on 'Pay as you view'...
You need to travel out of Nigeria to ask and see how billings are allowed in other parts of the world. Tope.
