Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia has added Chelsea forward Victor Moses and Norway-based defender William Troost-Ekong to the provisional list for the Rio Olympics.
Victor Moses is 25 and he will be an option as one of three overage players allowed for the competition.
However, after he recently snubbed the Eagles friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg, it is left to be seen if his selection would be favourably sanctioned by the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Chelsea midfielder and Super Eagles skipper Mikel Obi, Watford striker Odion Ighalo and CSKA Moscow star Ahmed Musa were originally designated as the three overage players for the Olympics.
Siasia has broaden his options in this respect as he has also included South Africa-based Daniel Akpeyi among his overage players.
Central defender Troost-Ekong is only 22 and so he falls within the allowed age of 23. He has enhanced his chances of been on the flight to Brazil after he posted solid displays in the heart of the Eagles defence in the recent friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg.
The confirmed absence of Segun Oduduwa due to a major keen injury will further improve the chances of Troost-Ekong, who has featured for the Netherlands age-group teams.
We further specially gathered that Siasia has finally submitted a list of 56 players, four players short of a much-publicised 60-man provisional squad for the summer games.
African champions Nigeria are drawn against Colombia, Sweden and Japan in the first round of the tournament in Brazil, which begins in August.
