Amaechi noted that President Muhammadu Buhari administration is pursuing a total diversification of the economy with a strong belief that a national fleet that is private sector driven will stimulate the maritime industry.
“The Federal Government’s intention is to make Nigeria the maritime hub in Sub- Saharan Africa and the preferred destination of the international Shipping community”, Amaechi said.
Hassan Bello, Executive Secretary/CEO, Nigerian Shippers’ Council has a track record of turning around moribund institutions to sustainable growth.

The idea of a national carrier is a terrible decision that will not boost the nation's economy as claimed. As corrupt and as incompetent as we are, this is not going to work. It will simply be a sink hole that will worsen things in the country. Who are you going to compete against- KLM, United, American Airlines, Delta? Forget it people. This airline will go bankrupt within five years.
ReplyDeleteNational Carrier is a waste of fund.
