Liverpool are ready to try sign Napoli star Marek Hamsik to Anfield this summer, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
Giulianelli revealed: "Aurelio De Laurentis, the Napoli president, has received a proposal of about €45m for the Slovak midfielder, who has been offered a contract of four years at €6m."
That equates to a transfer fee of just under £35m - which would effectively equal the club record paid for Andy Carroll in 2011, and around £90k-per-week.
Hamsik, now 28 years of age has lit up Euro 2016 for his country over the last week and has spent the majority of his professional career at Napoli after joining from Brescia while still a teenager back in 2007.
