The Nigeria Football Federation Disciplinary Committee have upheld the League Management Company's expulsion of Giwa FC from the Nigeria Professional Football League and imposed a N10m fine on the club.
The decision was taken on Monday 13th June, 2016 at the Bolton White Apartment, Abuja.
Aside from the N10m fine, Giwa FC are to pay N1m to offset the expenses incurred by Enyimba.
They are also expected to pay N650,000 to offset the expenses of the match officials to the LMC.
The committee noted that Giwa FC failed to honour three cumulative matches in the on-going 2015/2016 NPFL season without acceptable reasons namely; Match Day 14 Giwa FC Vs Wikki Tourist FC, Match Day 16 Giwa FC Vs Aka United and Match Day 18 Giwa FC Vs Enyimba FC.
The punishment for the offence as stated in the statutes is expulsion.
Meanwhile, the committee stated that all parties involved have 48 hours to appeal the decision of the Disciplinary Committee.
