Cristiano Ronaldo became the first man to score in four European championships with two goals to secure Portugal’s place in the knockout stages of Euro 2016 with a 3-3 draw against Hungary on Wednesday.
Portugal struggled throughout the clash with the unfancied Hungary, and fell behind to Zoltan Gera's sweet first-half strike, though Nani equalised prior to half-time with a smart near post finish.
Balazs Dzsudzsak then netted a deflected free-kick to again give Hungary the lead, but Ronaldo hit back with a historic flick beyond the goalkeeper.
Dzsudzsak would not be denied, however, and sent another deflected drive past Rui Patricio, but Ronaldo again levelled with a towering header, though they did not finish second in Group F, with Iceland netting a late goal against Austria to win 2-1 and leapfrog Ronaldo and Co.
Hungary secured top spot in Group F and await the runners-up of Group E. Tournament debutants Iceland also qualified for the knockout stages with a last-gasp 2-1 win against Austria to set up a last 16 meeting with England on Monday.
