England meets European Champions debutants Iceland in the final round of 16 clash of the 2016 edition at the Allianz Riviera in Nice.
The pre-tournament favourites England were less than impressing in the group stage and eventually finished second behind Wales in Group B. They were held to draws by Russia and Slovakia and their only positive in the tournament is a second half performed against Wales that earned them a 2-1 win.
Iceland are making their first ever appearance in a major tournament. Their ‘never give-up’ attitude was evident in the 2-1 win against Austria as they scored the winner in the dying seconds of the injury time. With two draws and one win, they finished second in the group pushing Portugal behind them.
