Eder scored two minutes from time as Italy sneaked past Sweden to secure their place in the knockout stages at Euro 2016.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic looked to test Gianluigi Buffon inside two minutes but his beaten to the ball in the air by Giorgio Chiellini eight yards from goal in the only action of a lacklustre opening 45 minutes.
Italy were content to sit deep after stunning Belgium with a 2-0 victory on Monday as Sweden enjoyed the majority of possession but struggled to break down a strong opposition defence.
The tempo of the game increased after the break, with Italy showing far more impetus after the break, forcing three consecutive corners almost immediately, but both struggled to gain a foothold in the game.
Ibrahimovic missed a gilt-edged chance to put Sweden ahead, only to be saved by the offside flag, before Eder pounced on Chiellini's throw in to run into pass and power a shot past Andreas Isaksson for the win.
