Switzerland got their European Championship campaign off to a winning start, as they claimed a 1-0 victory over Albania in their Group B encounter.
The Swiss broke the deadlock after five minutes. Xherdan Shaqiri's corner was met by Schar, who rose above Berisha to head home 1-0.
Switzerland carved out another opening in the 15th minute, as Shaqiri's knockdown found Seferovic, but the strike scuffed his strike and it sailed to Berisha.
Albania created their first opening after 30 minutes, as Sadiku was played through on goal by Hysaj, but the forward was thwarted by Swiss goalkeeper, Yann Sommer.
Alabania were then reduced to 10 men in the 36th minute, as captain Lorik Cana was given his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card of the game.
The Swiss nearly doubled their lead a minute later when Dzemaili's powerful free-kick rattled the frame of the goal, with Berish well beaten.
Nontheless, the score remained 1-0 in favour of Switzerland at the halftime break.
The Swiss introduced the exciting Breel Embolo in the 60th minute, and he nearly created a second goal minutes later when his through ball found Seferovic, who denied by a good save from Barisha.
Switzerland could have doubled their lead in the 75th minute, as Shaqiri and Seferovic combined to set up Embolo, who fired just over the crossbar.
Vladimir Petkovic's charges survived a late scare in the 86th minute, and had Sommer to thank for pulling off a fine save to deny Shkelzen Gashi from close range.
