Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has concluded plans to sponsor members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, thugs and hoodlums to protest and disrupt the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Rivers State to flag off the UNEP cleanup of Ogoniland on Thursday, 2nd June, 2016.
In a statement signed by Chris Finebone, APC, state publicity Secretary said: "It has also come to our notice that the protesters will disguise as citizens who have been mobilised to give Mr. President a rousing welcome on his visit before they will turn on their protests with placards and dangerous weapons with the singular purpose of embarrassing Mr. President, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Magnus Abe, Dr. Dakuku Peterside and the All Progressives Congress, APC, amongst others".
The party notes that it was solely political desperation that drove the Governor to hurriedly flag-off the dualization of Saakpenwa-Bori-Kono Road last week to deceive Nigerians that Wike cares about Ogoni people after sponsoring militants to kill them.

Please could some scarce Elders in this country advise APC leadership in Rivers state, especially this Finebone of a person that he should not always Stoke ember of crisis in every little issue in Rivers state because of political differences?.If a governor flags off a road construction in a particular rejoin in a state, how does become political desperation? When he flags off, completed and commissioned others in different parts of the ÅŸtate, was it also due to political desperation? Opposition politicking is good but should be based on constructive criticism and not shouting he and there even the shout is just noise and laughable, a display of stupidity. If the people of Ogoni want to protest, for any reason, how could that be the handiwork of a sitting governor who has called for the citizens to support the president on this particular exercise and has taken measures to safeguard peace during the visit?. If the federal government arrested their Chief, kept him In detention all this while and his subjects demand for his release, is that the handiwork of Wike? They have been demanding even before the scheduled coming of the president. So Finebone, know when to strike and not on silly matters. Please allow peace to reign in Rivers state. You have lost out for now!
ReplyDeleteWhy are the Fishbones breeding trouble where there is none to give dog a bad name all in the name of party relevance. Nigeria at the moment is on a time bomb, and it's going to be just a little thing that has been neglected over the years that will kindle it. We all should be very careful of our comments and dealings. The Fishbone Finebone comment is uncalled for targeted at setting Wike against Buhari the President and by extension Rivers State including Niger Delta and Nasarawa including the rest of the country. Let's always be mindful of those give offices of responsibilities to, the fact that a butterfly has wings does not make it a bird.
ReplyDeleteWhen will the APC especially the Rivers Chapter stop this their War drumbeat?
ReplyDeleteHow can people distrupt Mr President's visit with all the protocols on ground? These parties (PDP, APC, APGA, Labour or what have you) likes to carry sensational news for emphathy from the unsuspecting citizens. Some of us are wiser now.
