British girl, Claire Edun has landed a starring role in a Nollywood movie for her fluency in the language.

Claire Edun, a first time actress said she picked up the skill from watching Nigerian movies.



Describing her excitement at her new found celebrity status, Claire said she has fallen in love with Nigeria, the local foods and people. For her, learning the language was not challenging because of her ability to assimilate so much from just watching Nigerian Pidgin English movies she grew to love.

Nollywood Producer Lancelot Oduwa claims he discovered Claire on Facebook and was so impressed with her mastery of the language. Claire Edun is neither Nigerian nor has she lived in the country before now.

Claire stars in a new movie, ATM (Authentic Tentative Marriage) coming out Friday 13th May 2016

ATM, which stands for “Authentic Tentative Marriage” stars; Alexx Ekubo, Yvonne Jegede, Francis Odega, social media comedian and Nigerian culture enthusiast; Oyinbo Princess whose real name is Claire Edun and many others

Industry stars including Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Uche Jombo, Segun Arinze, Kalu Ikeagwu, Alexx Ekubo, Yvonne Jedege, Desmond Elliot, Ebube Nwagbo,Gab Okoye, Fred Amata, Omoni Oboli, among others are expected to be at the movie premiere.

Synopsis

A young man in his late 20s-Robinson-who believes the only way he can succeed is to travel overseas, and an easy way out is surfing through the internet for an online date. Luck smiles on him as he hooks up with a white prospective lady, Emilia. He starts financial extortion in the pretence that he is preparing the marital rites.

Meanwhile, he has a Nigerian girlfriend, Caroline, who has been taking care of him and his uncle, Gbenga.
Robinson convinced Caroline to go along with his plan on the agreement that he was going to divorce Emilia after six months, inherit her wealth and marry Caroline. When Emilia arrived Nigeria, Robinson got the shock of his life…through the eyes of the foreigner, our nation’s greatness is revealed.

ATM, according to Lancelot Imasuen, will be fully ready for nationwide cinema release on Friday May 13, 2016.
