Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has rejected two big-money offers from Chinese clubs and would like to remain in the Premier League even if City discard him, according to reports.
The veteran midfielder has just one year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium and the imminent arrival of Pep Guardiola to take over as manager has sparked speculation over the Elephants star’s future.
Toure, 33, has reportedly rejected two offers of £30m each from Chinese clubs Shanghai SIPG and Jiangsu Suning. He is also not interested in reuniting with former manager Roberto Mancini at Internazionale in the Serie A.
Instead, Toure is hopeful that he can remain on board with City, or is hopeful that the Manchester club will sell him to a Premier League rival.
