Super Eagles interim coach Salisu Yusuf has effected six changes to Nigeria’s starting line-up for Friday evening’s international friendly against Luxembourg at Josy Barthel Stadium.
Only Musa Muhammed, Ogenyi Onazi, Alex Iwobi, William Troost-Ekong and Shehu Abdulahi retian their place from the 1-0 triumph over Mali on Friday in Roen, which handed the three-time African champions their third win in 2016.
And given the importance of the game, Yusuf has opted to shuffle his pack.
Kelechi Iheanacho who got Nigeria’s lone strike against Les Aigles has been handed a starter’s role, replacing Gent’s Moses Simon who featured for 61 minutes on Friday.
Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi will man the Super Eagles’ goal post ahead of Carl Ikeme, with Ikechukwu Ezenwa named on the bench. The backline welcomes Kenneth Omeruo and Elderson Echiejile who will work with William Troost-Ekong.
In midfield, the more defensive Musa Muhammed keeps his place and Umar Aminu on the right-wing, with captain Ogenyi Onazi getting a starter’s shirt.
Nigeria starting XI: Akpeyi, Echiejile, Omeruo, Troost-Ekong, Ideye, Iheanacho, Abdullahi, Aminu, Onazi, Muhammed, Iwobi
