Addressing journalists in Abuja, Monday, the Minister of Information , Alh. Lai Mohammed, said that the paucity of foreign exchange has made it impossible for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to continue to solely import petrol.
His words, “Many have been asking why this would happen at this time and what triggered the decision concerning the new framework for petrol products supply, distribution and pricing.
“Gentlemen, we have no choice than to liberalize the price of petrol, if we are to end the crippling fuel scarcity that has enveloped the country, ensure the availability of the products and end the suffering of our people over the lingering scarcity.”

shame . a govt that has perfected lies as strategy.
ReplyDeleteIts a good thing as those thieves collecting subsidy fund will not have any more cause to claim what they did not supply or using wha7 they supply to claim double and still smogle same to various neibouring countries. This will change for better, only that government need to allow importation of food for now, and even allow it with no import duty in order to reduce the suffering posed by the initial effects of subsidy.
ReplyDeleteThe only alternative is to remove the incompetent selfish clueless and wicked APC government in the next election. Cikena! But I am afraid a lot of people may have gone to their early grave due to the government bad and wicked policies before then. Na Allah go save Nigerians from the hands of this wicked, selfish and shameless APC people and Govt. Ameen!
ReplyDeleteThose who stand to loose from the new policies of this present administration cry foul all the time. Too bad the old system of things has to go.
ReplyDeleteAs for me the new price of N145 is not really new as we have been buying PMS at that price when it was N86.50/litre.
ReplyDeleteI do not see any difference in my wallet, only good thing is that pump attendants are beginning to use plastic chairs in most filling station.
I bought N140/litre at Atlantic Filling Station east west road in PH. Competition may have started.
