Caretaker coach of the Super Eagles Salisu Yusuf has confirmed the availability of some of the players invited for the international friendly games against Mali and Luxembourg in France with the likes of Carl Ikeme, Ahmed Musa and Ogenyi Onazi already ascertained.
“I don’t think we have any problem with the players we invited, now the leagues in Europe are ending and the players are going to be around because the matches are fixed for FIFA free days, so I am sure they are going to be around,” Yusuf said.
“I know that Musa, Onazi and Ikeme are showing interest already and there are many more.
“Nobody has called me among the players that he will not be available and the plan is for the matches are still on.”
Yusuf however believes that the matches will help the Super Eagles to prepare well for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“Well, they are friendly matches and not do-or-die but one thing I want you to know is that it will help the players to prepare well for the World Cup qualifiers,” Yusuf added.
Nigeria will play Mali in France on May 27 in Rouen while the Eagles face Luxembourg on May 30.
