Justice Ishaq Bello of Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja today adjourned the trial of the Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party for health reasons.
The judge, who had presided over a case before that of Metuh, explained that he had problems with his eyes and that he had undergone a surgery and was, therefore in need of rest, hence the adjournment.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arraigned Metuh before the court on charges of destruction of evidence.
The EFCC had on January 21 arraigned Metuh on two counts, including destruction of his statement on January 5, 2016, allegedly to prevent it (the statement) from being tendered as evidence against him in court.
In the second count, Metuh was accused of “mischief,” which he was said to have committed by allegedly tearing the said statement “with the intent to cause wrongful loss or damage to the property of the EFCC.”
The EFCC, however, amended the charges in February, adding another count of obstruction of officers off the commission against the PDP spokesperson. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
