Former Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has signed a two-year extension to his contract at Lille, the French club have announced.
Enyeama’s previous deal was due to lapse in the summer of the 2017, but Lille have taken the bull by the horn by offering an extension to the Nigeria shot stopper, who has since put pen to paper.
“LOSC is pleased and proud to announce the extension of Vincent Enyeama contract for two more seasons. The Nigerian goalkeeper of 33 years will continue to defend the goal for LOSC until 2019,” the club announced on their website.
Enyeama, 33, joined Lille initially in 2011, but spent the following season on loan at Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, after struggling to get first-team action.
However, he returned to Lille, where he has since been the first-choice goalkeeper and is regularly nominated as one of the best 'keepers in France.
He kept 18 clean sheets in Ligue 1, and two in the league cup, making it 20 clean sheets in 39 games in all competitions for the club this past season.
