A 23-year-old Nigerian student has been hit with an iron rod in a suspected racist attack in Hydeeabad,south India just days after Africans protested increasing cases of racism targeting blacks in the Asian country.
Damilola Kazeem was allegedly hit by a man described as his neighbour following an argument over the use of a parking space in the area.
The suspect was subsequently detained .
The Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj asked local authorities to probe the matter which came on the heels of African diplomats cancelling African Day celebrations.
The ministry’s spokesperson tweeted: “Reports of a Nigerian student injured in Hyderabad: EAM [External Affairs Ministry] @SushmaSwaraj has urgently sought report from state govt, is monitoring the case.”
Emmanuel Omurunga, chairman of the African Students Association in the state of Telangana, said: “The situation in India is no longer safe for us. Even the police are not willing to help us when we approach them.”

What you dont tell your readers is, there is a large number of Nigerian Drug Dealers in India and they are not welcome.
ReplyDeleteThailand, there is 2,000 Nigerians in Bangkok, 400 are is prison for Drug Dealing, they come to Thailand on 30 day tourist visa's, they become illegal immigrants when they overstay the visa. The Thai Police dont like them, they are bad people
Spent four months in India and there was no incident. In fact my Nigerian friends were the Racists, they constantly pressured me to cut ties with my Indian friends and they go about with an air of superiority. Maybe bcos of an inferiority complex they pick quarrels unnecessarily. They are rude, intimidating and uncout. They commit crime and hold wild parties even in very conservative neighbourhoods..Truth be told, I know Some Indians are Racists, I don't agree with the notion that every attack and every fight is race related. I met the nicest people in my life in India. They still call me now and they never fail to comment on how different I am from other Nigerians. These criminal, arrogant, racist Nigerians should leave India so the rest of us can reside with our hosts in peace. That said, common sense should tell an individual to avoid a confrontation esp wen u notice it's race related not coming to post bloodied faces on social media. Racism and tribalism are diseases. Please change!!!!
ReplyDeleteHmm, what you don't know is that you are better treated when you travel abroad as a visitor than when you come and plan to stay and live with them. They see you stealing their jobs. Even those of us living here are just divinely thriving. Abroad isn't what people really think. It's all about deceit. May the Almighty God change us for good.
