The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, says plans have been concluded to sign visa-free pacts with a bloc of eight African countries to promote economic partnership on the continent.
The minister announced this in Abuja on Tuesday at a news confernce to mark one year of President Mohammadu Buhari’s Administration.
The minister, who did not disclose the names of the countries making up the bloc, noted with concern that trading among African countries had been very low.
He, however, said that with the new idea by the President Mohammadu Buhari led administration, “it is expected that there will be upsurge in economic activities. “ Africa is the centrepiece of our foreign policy but it is a paradox that as a Nigerian, you cannot go to an African country without a visa unlike what is obtainable in Western Europe.
“To address this as a leader in the continent, the country is at a point of introducing an initiative to promote African trade as part of the country’s foreign policy of Africa as the centrepiece”, he said.
Onyeama said Nigeria was trying to come up with an initiative, like the one in Western Europe where one could enter any sister country without a visa.

Must you antagonised whatever policy your country is trying to bring. Can you for once say God bless Nigeria.Do you know how many African countries Nigerians can travel to without visa.Do you think that Nigerians finds it difficult to go African countries. Government is talking about visa free for purposes of going to do business and them coming to your country to do business and you are their talking nonsense. When you read visa free you mind went straight for the purpose of migration.Which country in the world will give you visa free for the purpose of migration.Nigeria is a developing country and not a developed country.Think and reason before you comments. If you don't understand the news or topic just keep quiet, don't comment. If Nigeria is a shameless country to you, that means you belong to a shameless country and you are a shameless girl.
ReplyDeleteThe other day, you were asking why Nigerianeye deleted your comment, you can use your sense to know why, its because you are talking rubbish based on sentiment.
Yes and before long your Igbo brothers will flood these countries dealing in drugs and narcotics further denting the already battered image of Nigeria as they have done in many countries across the world from India, China, Indonesia, Singapore Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Europe, USA and Canada... and of course South Africa where they have become the Capone of that country. Their girls have turned their womb into commercial baby making factories selling infants like dolls to anyone for money. Igbos are also the main tribes who deals in fake pharmaceutical drugs and items (from cosmetics, electronics to building materials). Kidnapping has also become the major occupation for their youths. For these crop of this people, money is everything as according to their ideology "the end justifies the means" Let's call a spade a spade, as the truth may be bitter, but it is still the truth.
ReplyDeleteCorrect.... Abeg tell them more some of them get block head.
