The Presidency has said that the British Prime Minister, Mr. David Cameron still has the “old snapshot” of what Nigeria was before the coming of the President Mohammadu Buhari administration to have described it ” fantastically corrupt”, alongside Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister while briefing the Queen of England, Elizabeth 11, Tuesday, after a cabinet meeting ahead of the Anti-Corruption summit where the Nigerian president is billed to give a keynote address on Thursday tagged Nigeria a “fantastically corrupt” nation.
Watch where he said it below...

But Cameron was countered by the ArchBishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby who reminded him that president Buhari was not corrupt.
The prime minister had come under verbal attacks from Nigerians who felt ridiculed by the development which appeared to have happened before a television camera without Cameron’s knowledge.
Reacting to the insult, the presidency through the senior special assistant to Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu said that the UK’s remarks about Nigeria was wrong.
The presidency also appreciated the Archbishop to rising in defence of Buhari.
“It is certainly not reflective of the good work that the President is doing. The eyes of the world are on what is happening here. The Prime Minister must be looking at an old snapshot of Nigeria.
Things are changing with corruption and everything else. That, we believe is the reason they chose him as a keynote speaker at the the pre-summit conference.
“Thank you to the Archbishop. We very much cherish the good relationship between our two countries and nothing should stand in the way of improving those relations”, the presidency said. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

What is the difference between being corrupt and being "FANTASTICALLY" corrupt?
ReplyDeleteBros being fantastically corrupt mean say we be "Original Sabi People" We nor dey cary last
DeleteThis is the view the whole world have about Nigeria. Many people have been taken to court by EFCC and millions of Naira spent but none have been convicted as of now. Those prosecuted are members of PDP while those PDP members who defected to APC are now saints. Again remember the article by Daily Mail accusing PMB of using UK aid money to molest opposition party members.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that UK PM do not read the news.
PMB is doing his best but he is a lone ranger. "FANTASTICALLY corrupt" is the best way to describe Nigeria. Sorry guys I stand with David Cameron shoulder to shoulder
Cameron is an Idiot
ReplyDeleteClear way of telling Baba that they don't need anybody from a fantastically corrupt nation. The Archbishop robbed it deeper in an attemotto cussion the effect by saying that only Baba is a saint. Therefore, all Babas cabinet members and those in his entourage are fantastically corrupt too. We should not crucify Cameron because we do not have the information he has.At the end of the day the saints hunting other corrupt devils book will also be opened and the can of warm may be more smelly and terrible than what wee are seeing now. So Cameron has his reasons for the comment. Obasanjo once stated that Nigerian law makers are rogues and the noise and banters started until the dollar in law makers bribery film was released. So I am waiting.
ReplyDeleteCameron has said nothing wrong, he merely stated the obvious. Our President has always said it and that was the APC music during campaign so tell me what is new.
