Nigerian Cricket Foundation has appointed Indian coach, Shrinam Reganathan, to take charge of this month's World Cricket League Division 5 to be hosted by the United Kingdom with the hope of taking the country far in the competition organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Reganathan, a level A, certified coach under the Board of Control of Cricket in India, was included in Nigeria’s team technical crew following previous unimpressive performance, the Nigerian cricket official said.
“We are happy to have such a coach that has attained the highest level of coaching training in India. India is one of the best cricket nations in the world and we strongly believe his wealth of experience will impact positively on our team at the ICC league,” Team manager of the Nigerian Cricket Foundation Joshua Eshua said.
The official added that the team would depart the country on May 11 on a training tour to Essex in London to acclimatize before departing for the league.
More than 14 Nigerian cricket players have been invited to camp ahead of the training tour and competition.
