Jonathan goes into exile as EFCC closes in on him

According to Thisday, former president Goodluck Jonathan may have gone into temporary self-exile in Cote d’Ivoire, following reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may arrest him on his arrival in Nigeria from his overseas tour on allegations of corruption and misappropriation of billions of dollars during his administration.

Several sources close to the ex-president, confirmed that Jonathan had sought refuge last week in the West African country.

In recent weeks, the EFCC has arrested and currently prosecuting several public office holders who served under the Jonathan administration, arrested some of the closest allies of the former president including his cousin, Mr. Aziobola Robert, in connection to a $40 million pipeline surveillance contract, and his former principal secretary and confidant Mr. Hassan Tukur.

  1. Mr Buhari, hope you know what you are doing. You shall soon see the result. But let it be known to you that GEJ can not run because of you. Rather the reverse will be the case

    2. Look at this idiot. Are you deaf or blind? So you mean all the lootings of dasuki, Alex Badeh, okonjo, Alison, Including dollars caught in Soakaway are all hoax? You need to be rebrainwashed. If Jonathan was not caught that means there's still a person above law

  4. Jonathan should have cancelled the 2015 election immediately the card reader failed him. The whole world , CNN, BBC, VOA, were watching a helpless president Jonathan fumbling with a card reader at such a sensitive election. Ok, the guy said he doesnt want to waste the blood of innocent people so he gave up the struggle...Now, the man he congratulated ,hugged and shook is hands, now wants his blood.

  6. Will he face justice, we will have to wait and see.
I know he bought 10 private jets, and two Helicopters while he was in office, for his own personal use. The scam works with the purchase price being inflated, the over payment is then sent back privately to the purchaser, Sloppy systems in place allow this to happen all over Africa.

  10. You are busy talking about Jonathan. What has this your so called Buhari done? one year in office is like 100 years. High cost of living, fuel increase, dollars increase, retrenchment from job and the list goes on. Corruption without suffering is better than fighting corruption and people are dying of high cost living. wake up guys!
