Celtic fans want the club to get rid of Nigeria defender Efe Ambrose following his less-than-impressive performance for the club this season, the latest of which was against Aberdeen in a 3-0 victory.
Ambrose who was seen doing cartwheels as Celtic celebrated the Premiership title was not impressive against Aberdeen on Sunday when he came off the bench, according to a report on The Scottish Daily Record.
With a new manager heading to Parkhead for next season, fans are hoping Ambrose will be going in the opposite direction.
A fan, James Robertson, said: “It’s a remarkable achievement for Celtic to win the league when they have been playing with ten men every time Efe Ambrose is on the pitch.
“I find it astonishing that football managers and coaches can see a player in there where an ordinary guy like me from the East End can spot a mile off he’s not up to the job.
“If he’s a player, I’m the next president of UEFA.”
Gerard McBride, another Celtic fan, said: “Well done to Ronny Deila winning the league but I am glad he is going. I want to see Steve Clarke coming in and his first job will be to get rid of Ambrose.”
Gordon Murray, a fan fromEast Kilbride, said: “I’d like to congratulate Celtic on winning five tainted titles in a row. Let’s see how they get on trying to win a real one next season with Ambrose.”
Ambrose is in the final year of his contract at the club.
