No fewer than four persons, on Thursday, died in a fatal auto crash in Bauchi state.
The accident occurred at about 2:30 pm at Narabi village, along Bauchi-Jos Federal Highway.
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the unfortunate incident on Friday.
The spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, in a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi on Friday, said a 16-month-old baby was among those that lost their lives, while eight other people sustained injuries.
Mohammed stated that the accident occurred when a fully loaded Daf Truck, red in colour, with REG number XA 149 PKM driven by one Mohammed Ali of Potiskum, lost control at Narabi town, hit Four vehicles and knocked down pedestrians.
The spokesman said, “Police Patrol teams attached to Toro division visited the scene and rushed the wounded to General Hospital Toro for treatment while four victims including two women, 16-months-old baby and one passenger were certified dead by a medical doctor.
“The deceased are “Nahemia Lamiri, male, (48) of Potiskum, Amina Mohammed, female, (47) of Jingre ward in Kaduna State, Ummi Ibrahim, female, (18), a Fifteen months old baby yet unknown.
“Three corpses have been released to their relatives for burial after postmortem examinations were conducted.
“Eight other victims are responding to treatment,” the spokesman added, stating that the cause of the accident is still being investigated.
