Fani-Kayode turns religious in EFCC cell, leads inmates in intense prayers & worship

According to recent reports, former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode leads inmates in intense prayers and worship in EFCC custody.

Below is a report on the incident from The Capital News:

In profile, Femi Fan-Kayode presents the sharp, narrow silhouette of an aggressive jester. The former Minister of Aviation could easily pass as the best light comedian in the country, any day.

Those who are familiar with his antics believe that he can easily build an illustrious career doing stand-up comedy. This is because Fani-Kayode, like an unrepentant high school miscreant, is back on his grind again, telling people stories and lifting their hopes, so that he could dash them against the jagged rock of disappointment.

Even in cell, Fani-Kayode is at his ridiculous best; by a radical twist of fate, the former aviation minister has turned pastor in the EFCC cell. The Capital findings revealed that Fani-Kayode started parading himself as a holy man of God immediately he was locked behind bars. He wakes fellow inmates up in the morning with worship and praise songs and he subjects them daily to intense prayer sessions by the hour.

Besides his newfound vocation as a pastor, Fani-Kayode is also going round the jail cell promising fellow inmates that he will intervene in their favour and initiate strategic public relations efforts in their interest to repair their badly damaged reputation. Most of his newfound clients were reportedly detained by the EFCC in respect of several cases of fraud.

It would be recalled that he was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since he became a person of interest in an N840 million misappropriation investigation. The EFCC arrested him two weeks ago for interrogation. Under intense scructiny, Fani-Kayode admitted to receiving the money which allegedly emanated from the account of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

  1. What is the author's motive of this write up. The EFCC boss should learn from Marilyn Ogar, former DSS spokeswoman. U don't dine with politicians, another person will be there tomorrow and u will be d casualty. EFCC and their media conviction should stop. Trying to ridicule the opposition at all cost.

    1. You have no idea what is going on inside that man, between him and God. So, I suggest you leave him to God.

  3. Let's be careful about, mocking people. There are people who have had a close walk with God, derailed for a while, and returned to God perhaps after some traumatic experience in life. FFK was actually, at one time, a Pentecostal Christian. His biography in Wikipedia has this to say about him:

"In 1993, under the tutelage of Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams of Ghana, Femi Fani-Kayode became a Pentecostal Christian. He decided to go back to school to study theology at the Christian Action Faith Bible Seminary in Accra, Ghana, gaining a diploma in theology in 1995."

The God to whom he once committed his life may have brought him to his knees to teach him something. The statement "He wakes fellow inmates up in the morning with worship and praise songs and he subjects them daily to intense prayer sessions by the hour." is uncharitable. How can you say he "subjects (fellow inmates) to daily intense prayer sessions"? If he calls them to join him in prayer, surely they do not have to join him!
