Egbeda murder: Alleged lover of late Mrs. Ronke Shonde on the run

Managing Director of a publishing firm in Ikeja and alleged lover of late Mrs. Ronke Shonde, who was allegedly beaten to death by her husband at their Egbeda home in Lagos, last week, has reportedly been absent from work since Monday, following his indictment as the cause of the quarrel that led to the tragedy.


A visit to the office located on the ground floor of a two-storey building on Talabi Street, Ikeja, yesterday, revealed that the publishing firm’s MD was absent. Members of staff of the company kept mum when approached, saying that they were not in the best position to speak.

Besides, the late Ronke’s husband, Lekan Shonde, who was interrogated by detectives at the Homicide section of the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, yesterday, still maintained that his late wife had a secret relationship with her boss.

He had earlier stated that he over-heard a telephone conversation between his late wife and her boss, (names withheld) where she allegedly recalled their love escapades, adding that his late wife never contradicted the claim.
