Bayern Munich emerged DFB Pokal champions, after beating Borussia Dortmund 4-3 on penalties at the Olympiastadion.
Thomas Muller went close to breaking the deadlock after 20 minutes, but the Bayern forward headed over the crossbar from close range.
Burki made the first real save of the game in the 30th minute, as the Dortmund shot-stopper got down low to keep out Douglas Costa's powerful strike from 20-yards out.
Pep Guardiola's charges were presented with a glorious chance to take the lead in the 53rd minute, but Lewandowski managed to fired wide of the upright from six-yards out.
Bayern squandered another chance to break the deadlock in the 64th minute. Muller held the ball up well, before teeing up Robert Lewandowski blazed over the crossbar from 12-yards out.
Burki was called into action once again in the 75th minute, as he produced a fine reflex save to keep otu Franck Ribery's deflected effort.
Dortmund should have taken the lead in the 85th minute but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang placed his effort over the crossbar with only Manuel Neuer to beat.
The game ended scoreless at the end of the 90 minutes and the game was forced into extra time, where neither side carved out any clear-cut openings.
The game decided by a penalty shoot-out, where the Bavarians held their nerve to triumph 4-3 in the shootout, as the secured the League and Cup double in Guardiola's final season with the club.
