Swansea midfielder and Ghana international Andre Ayew emerged winner of both the Best Newcomer and joint top scorer at Swansea’s awards evening on Wednesday.
The former Olympique Marseille star was beaten to the main prize, as well as the Supporters’ Player of the Year, by Iceland’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Sigurdsson and Ayew shared the top scorer’s award, having both netted 11 times ahead of the Swans’ final league match of the season this coming Sunday.
Ayew was also twice nominated for the Goal of the Season gong, but that went the way of Jack Cork for his strike in a 3-1 home win over Liverpool.
Ayew’s Gambian teammate Modou Barrow won the Young Player of the Year award, having become the first from his country to play and score in the Premier League.
