APC’s ‘unimpressive’ performance opportunity for PDP to regain power in 2019 — Mimiko

The Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party to take advantage of what he described as the unimpressive performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress to regain power in 2019.

The governor spoke on Saturday at the southwest zonal congress of the party which held at the International Conference Centre in Akure.

He said the future of the PDP depended on the action and inaction of the southwest chapter of the party.

Mr. Mimiko noted that PDP in the zone occupied strategic position in Nigerian political realm.

He said the southwest remained the leading light of politics in Nigeria, calling on the leadership of the party to stand up for what is right and be consistent with the history of “progressivism” that the zone was known for.

He also appealed to the leadership of the party to stand firm because of the tedious task ahead of them, calling on other members of the party to be united and committed to its success in the future elections.

In his remarks, the Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, said the party would do well if all members come together as one.

He also cautioned the judiciary not to allow itself to be used by those who want to cause disunity in the party.

“There are people who cannot win elections, but would want to attain power through the use of the courts,” he noted.

He also accused the federal government of reversing all the achievements of the last administration, arguing that the country’s fortunes had dwindled after the All Progressives Congress, APC, took over.

The congress elected Eddy Olafeso from Ondo State as the national Vice chairman, south west, of the party.

  1. Governor Fayiose is insincere. One year of trial to correct the past anomalies of the 16years misrule of PDP cannot be compared at all. What are the indices used by Fayiose? The massive looting under PDP or what? Mimiko, are U crossing or what are your game plan? Fools in governance.

  2. While I agree with all the afore mentioned, I like to say that the Mr Governor whose comments we are respondining to is Mr Olusegun Mimiko.

Mr Governor, the PDP government was in power for 16 years, can you list their achievements especially those that directly affected the common man or better still grassroot development positively. Nigerian were not better of by PDP governance save the HELP of God. If anything is good in Nigeria, I tell you it is God. PDP even destroyed many good things God did for us in Nigeria

My fellow countrymen, The ruling party cannot undo years of damage In even 4 years. Let us wake to reality. The best they can do for now is to set a foundation for better tomorrow with the help of God.
There is no Messiah in any leader. The can only be instruments in the hands of God
