The Presidency is considering raising a strong team to be headed by experts to monitor the implementation of the budget signed into law last Friday.
The aim is to ensure the effective implementation of the current and subsequent national budgets and pluck the loopholes that have cost the nation huge sums of money and retarded development over the years.
It was learnt that the Monitoring and Evaluation team might be domiciled in the Budget and National Planning Ministry which falls under the purview of the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, who heads the National Economic Team under the Presidency.
It has also been learnt from competent sources that the N60 billion counterpart fund for the kick starting of the Calabar-Lagos Coastal Railway and other projects that were removed from the budget had been restored in the budget which Mr. President signed into law last week.
