Arsenal's title chances diminished further as they threw away a two-goal lead against West Ham and drew 3-3 at Upton Park on Saturday.
It was an eventful opening five minutes at Upton Park for the ground's final London derby before the Hammers move on, at the end of the season.
Andy Carroll made a terrible challenge on Laurent Koscielny, which saw him booked and the Frenchman limp off the pitch for treatment -- arguably Carroll was lucky to stay on the pitch.
In the 14th minute a spectacular overhead kick by Carroll found Manuel Lanzini in front of the goal, who duly put it in the back of the net, but to no avail -- the offside flag went up and the goal disallowed.
Three minutes later, Arsenal took the early lead with Mesut Ozil's eighth goal of the season -- a left footed cross past the keeper on the edge of the box, into the bottom corner
A dubious tackle by Francis Coquelin gave Dimitri Payet an opportunity for one of his famed set pieces: a free kick from outside the area, though it dropped toward the defensive wall. He was given another chance in the 28th minute, but again, nothing was made of it and it was easily cleared.
After something of stalemate, in the 35th minute Arsenal doubled their lead, thanks to Alex Iwobi's neat cross past the West Ham defence to a waiting Alexis Sanchez who slotted the ball in the bottom corner.
In the 44th minute Andy Carroll headed in a cross from Aaron Cresswell to get one back for the Hammers. Arsenal had a good chance to further extend their lead, but West Ham stole possession in a confident and sustained counter-attack which saw Carroll equalise just three minutes after his first goal with a scissor kick after a deflection.
Carroll headed in his third goal of the game in the 51st minute to finally take the lead for the Hammers, though he was having something of a chequered game, moments earlier having dragged Koscielny to the floor and out of the path of Payet's later disallowed goal.
Koscielny finally found the top corner of the net in the 70th minute to draw level, once again.
Gabriel could easily have seen red early after seeking retribution on Carroll by appearing to deliberately kick out at him but the Hammers held on and the game ended 3-3.
