Mikel Obi's Brother Stopped From Suing Ifeanyi Ubah

Heartland goalkeeper Ebele Obi, older brother of Chelsea Mikel, will no longer proceed with the legal process to sue FC IfeanyiUbah billionaire owner after he was assaulted at the end of a league game.

Ebele was to have sued Ubah for 200 million Naira for damages.

Ubah punched Ebele after a league game involving IfeanyiUbah and Heartland which led to sanctions from LMC on both parties.

The former Rangers captain said that some lawyers had started the process to sue Ifeanyi Ubah, but he has now stopped them following a decision at the family meeting in Anambra State.

"I am not going to press charges against Ifeanyi Ubah again. Lawyers have started the procedure, but I will have to tell them to withdraw.”

"This decision was taken after a long family meeting in our village in Anambra with my father, mum, wife, brother and sisters in attendance.

"My dad said I should withdraw the case in the name of almighty God who we serve and that I should let God handle the case."

He has so far served half of a six-match ban imposed on him for his conduct after the game.

  1. Part of the reasons why Nigeria is stagnant.People tend not to know when to stand for their rights as humans. He should have proceeded with the suit in order to lay precedent for other little guys that they should not allow any nuisance of a person irrespective of their status to treat them like thrash. Most wealthy people in Nigeria has no respect or regards for the little men.Opportunity missed which might never come again and more suffering for the ordinary guys in Nigeria

    1. This is not about vengeance but justice. God instituted authorities including the judicial system. Nigerians, where we can, should stand up against recklessness of the elites who believe they are above all constituted authorities. That is very bad if you ask me. However I respect the decision of the goalkeeper. He should do what he believes is best. He wears the shoes and knows where it pinches.

  3. Are you guys aware that he (Ebele) punched and knocked down a referee on the football field immediately after the match hence the retaliation from Ifeanyi Ubah? Ebele's conduct was improper yet he wasnt reprimanded, Ifeanyi Ubah was the only person that stepped in for the Referee. I doubt if Ebele would have won the law suit cos he has a lot of disciplinary cases against him.
