Kidnapping: IGP Arase directs AIG Zone 7 to relocate to Kaduna

Apparently worried by the rising wave of of kidnapping and other forms of crime in Kaduna State, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase has directed the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge Zone 7, AIG Ballah Nasarawa to relocate to Kaduna State.


While in Kaduna, AIG Nasarawa is expected to effectively supervise the security situation in the State.



The IGP also charged the AIG to devise means of stopping the incessant kidnapping as well as other forms of crimes, especially in Jere, Kagarko Local Government Area of the State.

In a statement in Abuja on Monday, by the Force Spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, IGP Arase also urged the AIG to develop new intelligence gathering and crime-fighting techniques and methodologies to suit the local challenges.

Arase also ordered that Police officers who have served in Kaduna State Command for a period of six years and above be transferred out of the Command with corresponding replacement.

In a related development, the IGP equally directed Commissioners of Police in Kogi State Command, CP Ojukwu and FCT, CP Wilson Inalegwu to improve on the surveillance network and high police visibility in the states.

The IGP asked the CPs to check the incessant criminal activities in Abuja-Lokoja-Okene and Kabba – Owo axis.

The IGP, however, assured the citizenry of the commitment of the Force to their safety, noting that the Police in collaboration with other security agencies will continually ensure strategic responses towards eliminating any threat to internal security of the nation.
