Leicester City moved seven points clear in the Premier League title race as they downed Southampton 1-0 at the King Power Stadium through a first-half Wes Morgan header.
Southampton went close to opening the deadlock early on after Saido Mane rounded goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel but saw his shot blocked on the line by Danny Simpson, possibly by his hand.
The Foxes took the lead on 38 minutes as Christian Fuchs' whipped ball from the left-wing evaded the Saints backline. Club captain Morgan arrived late in the box to crash a header past Fraser Forster for his first goal of the campaign.
Leicester came under intense pressure in the second period but managed to hold on to a vital three points as they edge closer to a historic domestic triumph. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
