Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid: Suarez Double Completes Catalan Comeback

A Luis Suarez brace helped Barcelona come back from a goal down to earn a 2-1 Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid in an enthralling contest.

The Blaugrana's hopes of putting Saturday's Clasico defeat behind them took an early blow at Camp Nou when Fernando Torres once again struck to give Atletico a dream start.

The ex-Chelsea man went on to pick up a red card, however, and numerical superiority paid for Barca as Suarez scored twice in a one-sided second half to seal a narrow quarter-final triumph.

Torres silenced the Nou Camp by breaking the deadlock on 25 minutes, but was sent off ten minutes later after two stupid yellow cards to leave his side in the lurch.

Barcelona pushed on but spurned a number of great chances before they equalized through Suarez just after the hour.

The Uruguayan forward was criticised for a quiet performance in Saturday's clásico, but showed his predatory instincts to divert home Jordi Alba's volley just after the hour mark.
