Senate Minority Leader and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio has urged Nigerians to consider voting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2019 presidential elections.
Akpabio made the plea while speaking to journalists in Abia State after attending a thanksgiving service.
“As a party, we are happy with the arrangement made so far. Last week, we met with the National Working Committee (NWC) of our party and we agreed that the timetable for the party congress remains sacrosanct. So, the convention will take place on May 21 to elect new leaders for the party,” he said.
“I believe it will go in a normal process. We are democrats. I believe strongly there will be no imposition and no impunity. As a party, we show our democratic disposition during the last presidential election. We lost the presidency. We congratulated the winners and we peacefully handed over power.
“Today, other countries are emulating the PDP. We expect the same thing to happen at the various congresses. Let me also use this opportunity to appeal to Nigerians to consider the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2019 presidency,” he added.
Akpabio had earlier paid a visit to Rivers State during which he urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to release the results of the March 19, 2016 rerun elections in the state.

At the rate at which PDP's heartless and sadistic looting are being exposed daily,it'll be well beyond 2019 before all their atrocities and devilish secrets are fully revealed and looted funds recovered.I will be surprised if there are anyone left worth voting in the party then
ReplyDeleteBut 50% Apc component is from the Pdp.Let us not be biased to believe that the Apc is in any way better than the Pdp.We are facing the same politicians who have impoverished us for a very long time. The Nigerian masses should be wiser not to give these gullibles the oopportunity to deceive them any longer.
ReplyDeleteIs PDP still existing? Ha ha ha!
ReplyDeleteMuyiwa your APC that you claim exists what had come out of the government more than blaming others for their failures. Exchange rates high is PDP, no fuel and electricity is PDP, inconclusive election is PDP. Nothing is working, promised and fail. APC should go and bury their head. Governor introducing law that undermine our constitution nothing is said about it. Eg kaduna state. Is that the government we want again?. Don't forget 70% of APC members now are thieves that left PDP to take cover from being arrested. Shine your eyes Muyiwa
ReplyDeleteIF APC Is not good enough then PDP is death and buried...... I will never forget when Ethiopia bought a Solar light powered modern train for $480 million Dollars and Nigerian under the PDP bought a locomotive train of the 50'S for $12 Billion Dollars.... the cash that would have gotten us over 12 of the modern train Ethiopia bought and you guys are begging to come back shame!!!!
ReplyDeletePDP! Jegudu jera Goverment.
ReplyDeleteAll the past leaders including the present one is guilty of corruption but i beleive they will realise their mistake by now as for me inspite of all these political accusation i will vote for PDP in the next election because life cannot continue like this under Buhari and his government unless if suddly things turn around
ReplyDeleteNo. If APC fails, we look for an alternative. Definitely not PDP!
