Checking out this picture, some of you will find it hilarious, while others will just stay shocked.
This is a filling station in Lagos, Nigeria where you can literally see a 'generator queue'
Due to the drop in power generation and inevitably, the poor power supply, and 'Sahara Desert' type of heat in my homes, coupled with the fuel scarcity several Nigerians stormed to the filling stations to struggle to get fuel for their generators at home.
NigerianEye's investigations however revealed that the petrol attendants had instructions from 'above' not to sell fuel in plastic jerry cans or gallons, so some people went back home to bring their generator tanks (some even brought the whole generator) to the filling stations.
Fuel was sold above the recommended 86.50 Naira per litre in all the filling stations visited by NE, this is after the 'generator queue' customers also pay the attendant extra N500.
But really, you just got to wonder, what is the difference between a gallon and a generator tank? Aren't both containers despite of different materials?

ReplyDeleteNa the chanji be this. Sai Baba!
Fuel attendants in Lagos State said that "it is crime to come to their filling stations with jerry cans" Therefore, they sell at #100 or or #110 per litre, but with your jeeps and SUVs you buy at #86.5 per litre. In Naija Dog will always eat Dogs.

ReplyDeleteNigeria is still in the dark because of our irresponsible shameless attitude and greediness. Regarding money than life. This is just ridiculous and unimaginable. It's just unfortunate that we careless what the world sees and say about us. Good name they say it's better than gold and corrupt riches. But who cares?
