Throw back to the year 2003, It was a Buhari/Okadigbo campaign train under ANPP, and above is a poster where Buhari/ANPP criticized Obasanjo.
The campaign states they won’t be traveling up and down like Obasanjo as he fought for his second term.
Hmmm the irony...years later, Buhari is now Nigeria’s most traveled president within a year. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Let us pray for PMB to succeed, afterall he is just a human being, who can easily deny his promises, I advice Nigerians to turn to God and stop keeping their hope in men.
ReplyDeleteWhat goes around comes around, so says the adage. Mr Lai, over to you, any excuse. Or should we still take your usual excuse that "it is the fault of Jonathan."
ReplyDeleteWhen we are watching football on the tv, everybody becomes either a coach or a professional, so we complain and blame the players. Sometimes, we go as far as claiming that if we were the players, we would perform better. But it becomes another story if we are ones on the pitch. We give excuse and want everyone to believe us.
Those who are aspiring to leaders some day should be mindful of what they say about today, because records are being kept now. And, history has a way of repeating itself.
Thanks.

Buhari, finish our money on your foriegn trips you hear
ReplyDeleteWas Nigeria economy in the same comatose situation when Buhari made his comments back then?People from outside Nigeria do make fun of Nigerians because you guys don't understnd basics, and the few that do,have been bought over with money thereby making you puppet on strngs controlled by your paymasters.Nigeria economy was completely drained of life by the last PDP regime and the cuntry's credibility was almost Zero, only good diplomacy and figorous cross continental meetings and agreements on one to one basis by leaders of majos countries could save Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteI do not think Buhari would have gone to beg US,UK,SAUDI ARABIA,QUATAR and otherws if Nigeria economy was as good as when the military handed over power to the civilians.
You make sense as most analyst analyse on the pages of papers not with logic and contents. 2003 event has been overtaken by the last PDP irresponsible government. This is the bitter truth we must swallow
DeleteKeep talking rubbish...we are watching u and ur pmb...all I knw is that 4 years is around the corner, its no more far...
DeleteSmart your justification is out of place. When Obasanjo came into power Nigeria's standing in the international community was at its lowest following Abacha's atrocities. Nigeria had been suspended at one time for Saro Wiwa's execution, Mandela fell out with Abacha leading to Abacha pulling out our National team from the 1996 AFCON in SA that we were suppossed to attend as defending champions. The West was daily barrage ngozi the Govt for its human rights violations and political assassinations. Walter Carrington the American Ambassador at the time was virtually hiding Nadeco members due to attacks from Security agents and the word Pariah nation was commonly used to describe Nigeria. There were even sanctions imposed on Nigeria at the time. Most importantly we had a huge foreign debt profile that made us a slave to International Financial Institutions. So OBJ was very justified for his travels and Buhari should not have unjustly attacked him at the time. While Buhari's travels may be justified at this time, the point being made by the commentator is that we should not be quick to criticise when you are not wearing the shoes.
DeleteBuhari is an opportunist...he's wasting Nigeria money travelln like a fool
ReplyDeleteNa so life be. People wey dey POLICE thief wen dem never join police na dem be arm robbers in police uniform.
ReplyDeleteSo the country is so so bad to the extent that the so many foreign trips of GMB is the ONLY WAY out!!! I DONT THINK SO. He knew what he was getting into and trust me....NO NATION ON THIS EARTH WILL DO ANYTHING detrimental to themselves. Its common reasoning that the long term achievements of these trips may just turn Nigeria to a slave or dumping ground for inferior goods and services. We need to go back to our LAND and TILL our lands. Lets leave political sentiments aside. You do not go around blasting the image of your country and expect the same country to come and invest in your "bad mouthed and unsafe" country. Please lets be reasonable. Nigeria is ours and we must protect this nation.
ReplyDeleteI love my president. 1Nigeria!
ReplyDeleteOne can not compare 2003 with 2016 economy situation. It is totally different. A lot has gone wrong.
ReplyDelete2003 till 2015. Nigeria was making good money from oil but that is not the case now. He needs to source for additional revenue to support the economy bcos of the crude oil price fall.
l lived in Qatar and l believe his visit was justify. He is redeeming Nigeria spoil images. Bilateral agreement with Qatar airways is additional boast to generate revenue and create jobs for Nigerian.
Am looking at it in this perspective. l may be right and also be wrong
I remember that Obasanjo did a lot of travelling during his first term in office and the outcome was successful for our country. Please let's pray that PMB's globe troting will bring succour to our batered economy.
