Former presidential candidate and a leader of Afenifere, Chief Olu Falae, Wednesday escaped death by whisker when a gun shot was fired at his car by mobile police men along Akure-Ilesha Express way.
Falae it was gathered was on his way to Ile-Ife to join other members of the pan Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere on a courtesy visit to Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi when the incident happened.
Falae A visibly disturbed former Secretary to the Federal Government, SFG, who narrated his ordeal to journalists in Ile-Ife before the Afenifere’s meeting with Oba Ogunwusi said he narrowly escaped death in the hands of the gunmen.
He explained that his car was shot at Ile-Oluji junction while traveling to Ife for Afenifere’s visit to Ooni og Ife.
NigerianEye recalls that Falae was recently kidnapped in his Akure home for several days before he was rescued from the hands of the fulani herdsmen who kidnapped him by the security agents.
He expressed shock over the shooting of his car by the police, asking “when was I kidnapped that they want to kill me now?. His words: “I was coming from Akure approaching Ilesa. I saw some vehicles ahead of me.
There was a bullion van in front. The vehicles ahead of us were overtaking the bullion van and we too followed. “I nearly passed them when I heard a shot and I heard a bang on my car. We stopped and we saw that they have fired at our car. “They didn’t stop.
We stopped at Erin-Ijesa and complained to the police at the check-point that we were fired at by some police following a bullion van at Ile-Oluji juction. Chief Falae who expressed fear over continuous attack on him said “I don’t know why I was kidnapped recently, why I was arrested in 1997 and locked up for two years and now shot.”

ReplyDeleteyou dont overtake those police van with escort like that, they will definitely shoot to see if the occupant of the car are ordinary citizens or armed robbers. The bullet was never aimed at you i believe. Stop showing us as if others are enjoying and govt is after you alone. Most of us surfers more than this. hunger and unemployement. ReplyDeleteYou were undisciplined, a bullion van with police escort has a right of way than other vehicles, so are ambulances and other categories of vehicles permitted to use sirens. If you overtook a bullion van,what did you expect? A handshake? I beg you guys should have saved this man from embarrassing himself by not reporting this.

Anyway all these gimmicks of yours will not absorb you of the current stealing case hanging on your nake.if I were you , I will do everything possible to keep my voice low so as not to be attacking notice. You are so fastidious ie dangerously unstable ,hard to be trusted. Always betraying for pecuniary reasons.
