The new captain of the Super Eagles, John Mikel Obi, has expressed gratitude to Ahmed Musa for relinquishing his role has captain and making him the skipper in his place as well as his team mates for their support.
Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi was announced as the new captain of the senior national team after Ahmed Musa relinquished his position as skipper at a press briefing in Kaduna Thursday.
Musa was named Eagles skipper after Vincent Enyeama retired from international football by former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh.
Mikel, while speaking in a press conference, was appreciative of the gesture of Ahmed Musa and his team mates. He has vowed to do things differently from his predecesssors.

ReplyDeleteMusa was not made captain after Vincent's retirement, but Oliseh removed claiming he was too old to be a captain, so he chose Musa over the rest.
