Manchester United defeated Manchester City in Sunday's derby clash as youngster Marcus Rashford scored the only goal that sees United move to within one point of their city rivals and within the last Champions League spot.
It was United who scored first when Rashford slotted past Joe Hart after 16 minutes to give Louis van Gaal's men an early lead.
City's best chances fell to Sergio Aguero who struck the post while Wilfried Bony missed presentable chances.
The result means United have now moved level with fifth-placed West Ham and just one point behind City, whose Premier League title hopes seem to have all but evaporated.
