Sometime in 2004, during the administration of ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, King Sunny Ade came up with the idea of setting up a radio and TV station and he applied for a license from the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).
He was given and so began the project. 12 years after KSA’s dream of setting up a radio station, it has been actualized and the station called M & C (106.5) takes off April 2nd.
The new radio station is located on Brig. Ademulegun Road in Ondo town. It is located in an existing building KSA built for his mum in her lifetime. He has now reconfigured the complex to house the studios of the station. Already, the mast has erupted and the engineers have been busy to meet the April 2nd take off time.
M & C FM (106.5) is the first station put up by professionals with a vision to be a national reference point with KSA representing music and culture, as the Chairman of the Boardwith other members who are professionals in their own right.

DeleteWhy are you castigating this man who has a good intention of transforming his own town?
ReplyDeleteWhy alwys criticising? He is not after money with has affluence already. Let him start from his place first, and then proceed to other places - he is worth it and has d dough. Look at Raymond Dokpesi now!
ReplyDeleteRaymond Dokpesi started AIT radio at Alakuko in Lagos state and not in Agenebode village edo state...
Deleteif you can recollect Dokpesi AIT ran into troubled waters when he was unable to honor his loan commitments with his bankers.. Dokpesi went public begging for donations from members of public to settle the consortium of banks who were bent on taking over AIT...
DeleteLocation of an industry is pivotal to the success of such outfit,KSA should be knowledgeable of this. However, he might have taken into consideration other determining factors such as the interests of development of Ondo, his origin...Well as events are unfolding...
ReplyDeleteRadio business is somehow ooo!...u need a lot of standby operation cash for the first 5yrs
ReplyDeleteGo and ask Senator Ben murray Bruce how they ran rythm fm 93.7 in Lekki back then, it was not easy ooo, most of the staff left...

ReplyDeleteCite a business in a location! location!! location!!! that will generate direct income.... Citing this kind of bizness in ondo state is not commercial. unless the Mr Sunny Ade is doing it for sentimental reasons. I wish him well tho
King Sunny Ade is the owner of his money , let him spend it how he likes,,he doesnt concern you nosey parkers
ReplyDeleteMany Nigerians lack financial literacy, even the educated ones.
ReplyDeleteTalking about Ben Bruce...He later became DG of NTA and with Atiku Abubakar then VP packaged the COJA Games/ Abuja Stadium equipment blah blah blah...Ben bruce came out blazing wif a lot of cash...9ja style....he immediatley got fat loans to float Silverbird TV and built the Silverbird Galleria in LAGOS & ABUJA & PORT HARCOURT & GHANA & a radio station in LOS ANGELES USA...later more radio stations all over 9ja etc etc etc ...when Jonathan became president, ben bruce got it all served on a platter of gold..he became a senator ..luck dude..God bless
ReplyDeleteToday 13th June, 2016. I was driving along the said road where the radio station is, I noticed a post of a name on a white building, "M&C RADIO - 106.50 FM. The dream is now a reality. We should congratulate the Juju Music Meastro, Chief Isola Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye for the completion of the project.
ReplyDeleteOn the issue of location, sustainability, etc that are associated with running business, it is true that "Un-easy lies the head that wears the crown" and another Yoruba adage says "Bi ori ba ti to lo'se nfo olori" However, we must acknowledge this truth, that giving back to the society (your society) where you sprang out from is one thing every sensible government has been encouraging our leaders, successful business mogul to do in their bit the promote quality life and growth in the economy of their towns.
I was privilege to meet Chief Sunny Adeniyi during the wedding prep and event of his daughter in Ondo and he seems to be a man that one should emulate, I still remember some story he told me about himself and his town - Ondo town
Trult speaking, he is a man of "Big Heart" and he did not promote vendatta.
Once again, Chief Isola Sunday Adeniyi Aegeye, "Hearty Congratulations Sir"
Abimbola Ogungbe
Will there be an ability to hear KSA's new station over the internet? I live in New Orleans, a music-rich town of course, and would like to stream it on line.
ReplyDeleteyes sir ride on, ondo lets go there,.....MUSIKROLL
