Former AC Milan Player Kaka has admitted that his side's defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League Final continues to haunt him.
The Rossoneri raced into a seemingly unassailable 3-0 first half lead courtesy of a first minute Paolo Maldini goal and a Hernan Crespo brace.
However three Liverpool goals in a frantic six minute second half spell levelled up the scores and sent the match to extra time.
Jerzy Dudek proved to be the hero in the shootout as Liverpool won 3-2 on penalties in what was a truly unforgettable night.
Kaka was on the losing side that day, and nearly 11 years on, the pain of Milan's capitulation still leaves him in pain.
In an interview with Radio Cope, the Brazilian said: "Honestly, years later I still can't understand how we managed to lose that game. We had the best defenders in the world in that team.
"Our back four was Cafu, Jaap Stam, Alessandro Nesta and Paolo Maldini but we still let in three goals in six minutes. Something amazing happened that can't be explained.
"All you can really say is that in football these things can happen. Especially in the Champions League, we have seen truly incredible things happen."
