Yunusa Dahiru, the 18-year old who was yesterday arraigned in a federal court in Bayelsa State for the abduction and rape of 14-year old Ese Oruru, has categorically declared that Ese’s mother was fully aware of the love affair and that they were sleeping together.
He told reporters in the court premises that Mrs. Rose Oruru was also aware that he was leaving for Kano with Ese, but that the girl’s father did not.
He accepted responsibility for Ese’s pregnancy, which he said was only disclosed to him by the police.
Asked why he had taken the young girl to Kano, he said she was the one who wanted to go with him, saying she loved him.
Of their intimacy, she told the reporter that it took place in Bayelsa and that Mrs. Oruru knew about it.

Dahiru mind you it is not Sharia. Any minor below the legal age of 18 has no consent in law. So, that is why even if your story is true you still have a bad case.But why is it that you Hausa/Moslems are do Obsessed with virgins? Just imagine? 14 Yeats old and you have got her pregnant! Do if it were your daughter she could be pregnant even at the age of 12 then. It is a shame. It is high time Government put a stop to this criminal acts going on and wide spread in the North.This breeds almajiris and miscreants who on the long run turn to a burden and serious problems in the society.
ReplyDeleteI TOTALY AGREE THAT ESE'S MOTHER MUST HAVE ENCOURAGED THE YOUNG MAN SOMEHOW THOUGH THIS DOES NOT MAKE THE YOUNG MAN A SAINT IT ONLY SHOULD OPEN OUR EYES TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY- THE WEAKNESSES OF OUR PRESENT DAY PARENTS, WHO LACK VALUES AND PRINCIPLES AND ARE READY TO SELL THEIR CHILDREN FOR A PLATE OF PEPPER SOUP. THEY HAVE NO SCRUPPLES OVER THE COMPANIES THEIR CHILDREN KEEP AS LONG AS THEIR PALMS ARE BEING GREESED. THE GIRL'S MOTHER AND THE MAN SHOULD BE TRIED FOR THIS CRIME. THE WOMAN SHOULD BE CHARGED FOR LACK OF DUTY OF CARE TOWARDS HER DAUGHTER TO TEACH A LESSON TO SOME PARENTS LIKE HER.
ReplyDeleteGood thinking! Parents of nowadays this is for u, we should nuture our children spritually and morally. Eg, spritually, your child should khow ur religion, morally, ur child should be trained descently; by not wearing indescent dress, by not making bad friends, by not washing immoral movies, by not u parents doing what children are not suppose to see in his/her presence,by not having access to social networks. Lastly don't allow ur present condition to expose ur child to any form of immorality. Thks.
ReplyDeleteMy mum was, 14 when she married and had me at, 15. In most parts of Traditional society including parts of Europe early motherhood is the norm. What has happened here with, Yunusa is not religion but the accepted way of living of the underprivileged in our society. Puberty brings sexual urges in both male and female. And satisfying these urges is difficult to govern.
