Amid the heightened religious tension in Kaduna State caused by the alleged anti-christian policies of the state government, a key religious figure has been recently kidnapped in the state.
Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Dziggau, leader of the TEKAN/ECWA bloc of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), was kidnapped on Monday.
According to reports, the kidnap may be connected to the “subterranean moves being made by some forces in the country to influence the election of the next President of CAN”.
Before his kidnap, Dziggau had openly hinted to the fact that the government was interested in installing a “friendly” CAN president “from the North” and expressed his neutrality on the upcoming elections. The abductors are yet to demand a ransom. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
