Alex Iwobi recovers from food poisoning, trains with Super Eagles in Kaduna

Arsenal star, Alex Iwobi, is back in his element after a food poisoning scare many feared would affect his chances of playing for the Super Eagles on Friday in the crucial games against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The Nigeria Football Federation calmed frail nerves through its official twitter handle where they announced that Iwobi is well and now and set for the crucial games in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.

Iwobi was also pictured on arrival in Kaduna with his team-mates at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium training for the first time after missing the morning session.

The Eagles arrived the Ahmadu Bello Stadium at exactly 4p.m. wearing all white Nike training kits and held a brief team-talk in the middle of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium pitch shortly before training began.

The three-time African champions are lodged at the African Continental Hotel off Isa Kaita Road, in Kaduna.

Twenty five players arrived Kaduna, with Elderson Echiejile being the only one being expected as at 5.30pm

Egypt is currently on top of Group G in the AFCON qualifying series with six points after beating Chad and Tanzania, while Nigeria is in the second place with four points.

The development means Nigeria will need to at least bag four points in the upcoming games to overtake the seven-time African champions who surprisingly have missed out on the last three editions of the AFCON.

It will sure be a keenly contested double-header as Hector Cuper’s men will first travel to Kaduna, Nigeria on the 25th of March for the opening leg and will thereafter host Nigeria four days later in Alexandria.
