Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to claims by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he got $800,000 forex at N185 from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Shehu who dismissed the PDP claims said he wished he knew the psychopath behind the official @PDPNigeria handle so that he can sue for defamation.
The PDP had earlier stated in a tweet that: “Garba Shehu got $800,000 forex at N185 from CBN on the instructions of Emefiele, CBN governor and sold at N350 on the same day.”
In a series of tweets, Shehu said he only did a transaction for $8,000 which he sent to his daughter and nephews through a United Bank of Africa account.
“It is a lie by @PDPNigeria to say I bought USD worth 800,000 from the CBN. I had only two FOREX purchases since coming into government.
“Amounting to Eight Thousand Dollars (USD 8,000) sent to my daughter and nephews through UBA. This is verifiable.
“I’m not a FOREX trader. The day I choose to start trading in FOREX I will resign as a Presidential spokesman.”
If I know the coward and psychopath behind the official @PDPNigeria handle, I will launch a defamation suit against him/her”.

I suspect it is true and a common practice of patronage and rewards. It should be investigated but this is nigeria where the truth is nothing.

ReplyDelete$8,000 as u said multiply by #350. That will be around #2, 800, 000. That's what u sent to ur daughter and nephews while poor Nigerians are languishing. With such amount which according to ur claim seems to be nothing, how can u be sensible to the fuel scarcity, how can u be sensible to the hardship Nigerians are passing through. U sent such huge amount to ur daughter and nephews to buy what! Yet ur government claims to be fighting corruption. Nonsense. APC my ass. So this is the change Nigerians voted for. Shehu Garba or whatever u call urself, u better say the truth bcos more are yet to be exposed.

ReplyDeleteNigerians are the most gullible people I ever see. Are there no procedures guiding fx operation? Besides except under PDP Government where anything goes and NSA can collect fund directly from CBN.
