KOGI: Governor Bello set to nominate deputy

GOVERNOR Yahaya Bello may have found a suitable deputy to work with. He hopes to make up for the unconstitutionality of his election by submitting the name of a replacement to Kogi House of Assembly for approval as deputy governor, having coerced the members to submission. That will not legalise the illegalities already committed.
The applicable maxim of law in this sense is that, you cannot put something on nothing and expect it to stand. What the constitution demands is that he should have run the contrived supplementary election with a running mate. The misbehavior of INEC and APC in the Kogi imbroglio makes it look as if there is no law in the land.
Declaring an election of November 21 that had been constitutionally won and lost inconclusive, thereby paving way for the emergence of Alhaji Bello, was the peak of their lawlessness. Indisputably, the making of Alhaji Bello as Governor of Kogi State is a perversion of the constitution and travesty of democracy.
It is doubtful if the originators and perpetrators of the idea thought and still think well about Kogi State. It is equally doubtful if they imagined the magnitude of the pains and shame their travesty and perversion have brought upon the people of the state. We the people of the state are all happy. This hired commentator had just failed. The nomination of Falake is a scam on its own. The joint ticket Late Audu/Falake is also faulty which Yahaya Bello would have still contested in court and win even if Audu is alive because Late Audu was a member of APC BoT which he refused to resign from before contesting and he voted himself during that very primary election. So in all ramifications Yahaya Bello has sure victory.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have any good thing to say, I advise go to bed and let good thinking Kogites rest. Is more shameful that the past administration of Idris Wada could not pay the salaries of the few workers left after his dubious screening. Praise God for the libration.
