The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, on Tuesday said the ruling party was concerned about alleged internal sabotage going on in some agencies which were headed by people appointed by the Peoples Democratic Party.
Odigie-Oyegun spoke with State House correspondents after leading some members of the party’s National Working Committee to a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
He claimed the party chiefs came to pay their respect to the President, adding that they, however, raised their concerns on one or two issues.
When asked to disclose some of the concerns the party chiefs raised with the President, Odigie-Oyegun, who noted that the meeting was pleasant and rewarding, said the concerns were internal party matters.
On the Monday mass sack of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s appointees, he said, “APC members were not concerned about the positions, we are concerned about the internal sabotage that is going on in a lot of the PDP-filled positions which are critical to our national growth and development.
“It is happening in INEC, it is happening in a lot of other institutions and that is what the concern of the party is, not necessarily taking over.
“We should take over and there should be people who believe in the change agenda, we have no apologies for that at all.”
He said it was at the President’s discretion to decide how soon the replacements for the sacked officials would come.
According to Odigie-Oyegun, there is no confusion on the 2016 budget as people are being made to believe.
He said, “There is absolutely no confusion. This is a serious issue.
“I want you to please understand the complications that come from adjusting a structure from over 40 ministries to just over 20 ministries and the necessary adjustments of figures and movements of institutions that, that entails.
“It was very complicated, so it is natural that adjustments have to be made to the process and that is just is happening.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Now that you have successfully removed the "PDP" people, you can now fill in your own APC people who are to be trusted. Then we shall be expecting a superlative performance. As events are unfolding, we are watching...
ReplyDeleteAre thé y not nigérians mr apc chairman
ReplyDeleteYes, they are Nigerians who are traitors to you and me, and Nigeria as a whole. They all belong to prison for sabotage the interest of the Nigerian people.
DeleteI feel so disappointed that in Nigeria even when you know very well that you are a failure still look for someone else to blame. Apc has nothing to offer. I had so much confidence in this government but I am disappointed and will not vote apc again.
ReplyDeleteIt is obvious from your speech that you never had any confidence in this government, what you had was just mouth confidence, because if had it, you would be patience and pray for this government's success instead of spewing gibberish here.
DeletePatience my foot...my u people were promising heaven on earth, did u talk of patience...oga patience, keep being patience,4 years will soon run out...
DeleteRubbish, this government has failed and will continue to fail. Leave PDP and GEJ alone and go ahead with whatever deliverables you have for the country. Is PDP still in power? Why call GEJ
Delete@Anonymous 11 49pm, please, first pray for long life to witness another general election again before you decide which party you will or will not vote for.
ReplyDeleteThis APC guys are fooling Nigerians. How can they be in power and be blaming a past government for their failure. PMB has been sacking political appointees since he assumed office, is Oyegun telling us they have not succeeded in removing any person they deem as traitor or what is their power for?
ReplyDeleteAnother foolish talk from an Edo man who happens to be the chairman of a party full of failures and deceitful men.
ReplyDeleteWell spoken
DeleteAPC members are only experts in propaganda and lies. You people keep blaming PDP for all your flops. Blame all the parastatals, INEC, Supreme Courts, Senate and what have you. They think that four years is forty years, clock is ticking already and there is nothing they can do about it. They came on the wings of lies and propaganda without a blueprint. They are all confused. Anti-corruption crusade without adding values to the lives of Nigeria. This is no longer Baba-Go-Slow but Baba-Hold-Up. Only time will tell what these old men, Visionless, clueless and disillusioned people have for Nigeria.
